Lovely pair of vintage wall sconces, likely dating from c.1960s.
These are a pair of beauties. Made of clear glass against a gold metal base, with crystal pendants, these wall sconces ooze vintage glamour. Named after the Marie-Therese of Austria, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, these Baroque-style light fittings first started appearing around 1730 and were beloved by the Bohemian Queen.
Each sconce has two arms, which rise up into cut glass cups, each with a light fitting. On the arms there are glass bead flowers and below hang wonderful faceted crystal pendants with with one larger scalloped pendant below each arm.
The form and materials used really catch the light. They are enchanting pieces and would look wonderful styled up with silk shades in any colour to suit their new home.
