19th century French Louis Philippe giltwood mirror

£220.00

Featuring the signature silhouette of the era with rounded upper shoulders and a flat square base, which are the hallmark of the Louis Philippe style (1830-1848). The mirror has an inner bead trim (les Perles) in the classic understated accent of the period.

With a beautiful gilt finish (goldleaf over gesso), you can see natural rubbing, aging and wear along the edges.

The glass shows light foxing, typical of antique mirror of its age.

Normally, this shape of mirror is found in a large over-mantle size, but this piece stands out for its diminutive and highly-usable smaller scale.

A beautiful untampered-with antique piece with signs of age.
