Lovely pair of ceramic greyhounds or whippets, in a Staffordshire style.
They have been designed in the 19th century ‘flatback’ style. Each dog features a soft reddish orange gradient coat, gold collar with black facial details, sitting beside a green tree stump.
They are a mirrored pair, intended to sit either side of a fireplace. They make a striking pair.
They are in very good vintage condition, with fine surface crazing throughout the glaze which adds to their antique appearance. There are no major chips or cracks.
The base is unmarked with a small firing hole and glaze on the bottom.
