Franz Welz glass trophy vase, c.1890

£125.00

A very beautiful late 19th or early 20th century vase in variegated lemon yellow and white blown glass.

Created using a ‘spatter’ technique, and almost certainly made by the notable Franz Welz glass factory in Bohemia. The factory had it roots in the 18th century and continued on through the 19th century, eventually ceasing production in 1930.

The vase is an unusual larger take on the famous trophy shape and has beautiful elaborate zig-zag clear glass handles. The colour is a perfect lemon yellow with clear white splatters that give a marbled effect and the piece really sings as a styling item, an absolute pop of zing.

There is one small chip on the top of the rim, pictured, but it is otherwise in perfect condition. A real jewel of a styling piece.
